How to check if you're shadowbanned on Reddit
Type the username into the checker above. We ask Reddit whether the account exists, then check a public Reddit archive for its past posts and comments. If Reddit says the account doesn't exist but it has posted before, it is shadowbanned (or was deleted). If Reddit shows a suspension, it is suspended. Otherwise the account is fine.
What each result means
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not shadowbanned | Everyone can see the profile. If posts still vanish, a subreddit is removing them. |
| Suspended | Reddit banned the account and shows a suspension notice. |
| Shadowbanned or deleted | Reddit hides the account, but it has posted before. If it's your account and you didn't delete it, you're shadowbanned. |
| No account found | The name doesn't exist and has never posted. Check the spelling. |

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I'm shadowbanned on Reddit?
Enter your username in the checker above. If Reddit says the account does not exist even though it has posted before, it is shadowbanned. You cannot tell from inside your own account, because everything looks normal while you are logged in.
What is a Reddit shadowban?
A shadowban is a site-wide ban that Reddit does not tell you about. You can still post and comment, but nobody else sees it, and your profile shows a 'page not found' error to everyone else.
What is the difference between shadowbanned and suspended?
A suspended account shows a suspension notice on its profile and the owner is told about it. A shadowbanned account looks like it does not exist to everyone else, and the owner is not told.
My account is fine but my posts still disappear. Why?
That is usually a single subreddit removing your posts, through its moderators or AutoModerator. It is not a site-wide shadowban, and it does not show up in this check. Ask the subreddit's moderators.
How do I get un-shadowbanned?
Appeal through Reddit's official appeals form at reddit.com/appeal. Shadowbans are often placed by Reddit's spam filters, so new accounts that posted links quickly are a common case.
Is this checker free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account, and the person you check is never told.
