Can you see deleted Reddit posts?
Often, yes. Public Reddit archives save posts soon after they are made, so a post that was deleted or removed later can still be found there. Search the author's username above and archived copies show up with their live posts. A post deleted before an archive saved it is gone for good.
Deleted vs. removed: your chances
| Reddit shows | What happened | Can we find it? |
|---|---|---|
| [removed] | A moderator or Reddit took it down | Usually, if it was archived |
| [deleted] | The author deleted it | Sometimes, if archived first |
| Author is [deleted] | The whole account was deleted | Sometimes, by the old username |
| Nothing at all | Deleted within minutes | Rarely |
How it works
- 1. Type the username. The person who wrote the posts you want to see.
- 2. We search Reddit and a public archive together. The archive keeps copies of posts even after they are deleted on Reddit.
- 3. You see their posts, live and archived, newest first.

What this tool can't do
- Undelete a post on Reddit itself.
- Find posts that were deleted before any archive saved them.
- Show posts from private subreddits.
- Show deleted images or videos, only the post text and title.
Frequently asked questions
Can you see deleted Reddit posts?
Often, yes. Public Reddit archives save posts shortly after they are made. If a post was saved before it was deleted, searching the author's username here can still find its title and text. If it was deleted before being saved, it is gone for good.
How do I see deleted posts from a specific user?
Type their username into the search box on this page. We search Reddit and a public Reddit archive together, so archived copies of deleted posts show up alongside the posts that are still live.
What's the difference between deleted and removed?
Deleted means the author took the post down. Removed means a moderator or Reddit took it down. Removed posts are more often recoverable, because the author was not trying to erase them.
Can I see deleted posts from a deleted account?
Sometimes. When an account is deleted, its posts show [deleted] as the author. If the archive saved them with the original username, a search for that username can still find them.
Can deleted posts be recovered on Reddit itself?
No. Nothing can undelete a post on Reddit. What this tool finds is an archived copy, not the post restored on Reddit.
