Reddit Post Search

Search the posts a Reddit account has submitted, across every subreddit it has been active in. Each result shows the subreddit, score and date.

A Reddit profile shows a user's posts in one sort order and stops at roughly 1,000 items. This tool reads the same history through several sort orders, adds Reddit's site-wide search and a public archive, and merges the results, which recovers submissions the profile page alone will not show you.

What a post search returns

How it works

  1. 1. Enter the username. A u/ handle or a full profile URL works too.
  2. 2. Posts are read across sort orders. New, top of all time, top of the year, top of the month, controversial and hot. Each returns a different slice of the same capped list.
  3. 3. Reddit's search is queried by author, which surfaces posts the profile listing misses, and the account's most active subreddits are searched individually.
  4. 4. A public archive is checked for older submissions, then everything is merged and de-duplicated.

When people use it

SituationWhy the post view helps
Checking a seller or traderTheir post history across trade subreddits shows what they have actually listed, and for how long.
Finding a post you remember but cannot search forIf you know who posted it, going through the account is faster than guessing at keywords.
Spotting repost and spam accountsA high post count spread thinly across unrelated subreddits is a recognisable pattern.
Researching a niche communityFollowing the accounts that post most in a subreddit is often more useful than searching the subreddit itself.

What it cannot do

Frequently asked questions

How do I see everything someone has posted?
Enter their username. Their submitted posts are read across several sort orders and combined with results from Reddit's search and a public archive, which returns considerably more than their profile page shows.
Why does Reddit's profile page show fewer posts?
A Reddit profile lists posts in one sort order and stops at roughly 1,000 items. Different sort orders surface different posts from the same capped list, so reading several returns more than the profile does.
Can I find posts that were removed by moderators?
Sometimes. A removed post often still exists in a public archive with its original title and body, even though Reddit now shows it as [removed]. Recovery is never guaranteed.
Does it search across all subreddits?
Yes. Posts are gathered regardless of which subreddit they were submitted to, and the subreddits the account posts in most are calculated from the results.
Can I search post titles by keyword?
Reddit's own search handles keyword searching of post titles well. This tool answers the different question of what one specific account has posted.
What about posts from a deleted account?
When an account is deleted the author field becomes [deleted] and Reddit no longer links the posts to a username. Archives sometimes retain the original attribution, but the live API will not return them.
